After breakfast, fly to Pakse in southern Laos. Upon arrival, transfer to the river to begin your Wat Phou cruise. Sail through gentle rapids and sandbanks on a long-tail riverboat before arriving at the 10th-century Wat Phou Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site from the pre-Angkor period. As the day ends, enjoy a relaxing dinner and sunset on board while the boat docks near a remote village along the river.

Start the day with breakfast onboard, then stop at the village of Huey Thamo, a short walk from the secluded Oum Muong Temple, nestled in a forest. Continue sailing south, with lunch served on deck, as you cruise toward the 4000 Islands region.
